Irish Coffee

This boozy treat was recreated one winter evening during the pandemic when we were bored and looking back over holiday snaps from a 2017 trip to the USA. Yes, it was lots of fun trying to recreate this treat.  

If you don’t have the ability to make fresh espresso coffee, I have made this with good quality strong instant coffee and a small amount of boiling water.

Now rarely will you see me tell how many serves a recipe yields but I do suggest this is enough for two people. If you return for a second round, then who am I to comment.

Two empty glasses
ingredients
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 60ml whisky
  • 60ml espresso coffee
  • 60ml hot water
  • 60ml whipped cream

Combine sugar, whisky, espresso and hot water together and stir until all the sugar is dissolved.

Gently lay the whipped cream across the top and serve straight away.
